We are delighted to share highlights from our post-festival publication. This month we highly recommend reading “Bridging the Digital Skills Gap with a Focused Student Initiative” written by Craig Smith (Lecturer in Law), published in Pedagogy: LTEC Learning and Teaching Showcase, which explores the innovative Digital Skills Week at Salford Business School. This initiative was designed to address the growing disparity between the digital competencies taught in higher education and those demanded by employers. By engaging students with platforms like LinkedIn Learning and Microsoft Office Specialist exams, the program aimed to enhance their adaptability, employability, and creativity. The paper highlights the development, delivery, and impact of this initiative, demonstrating its potential to transform student engagement and skill development, ultimately improving employability and curriculum relevance.
