Dean is the LTEC Facilitator, leading the organization and coordination of a range of LTEC events and research projects. Events within his remit include the annual Festival of Teaching and Learning and our celebratory ‘NSS Leadership Stars’ event. Research projects include several externally funded projects exploring staff engagement with academic development activities. As well as coordination of these activities, Dean also supports data gathering and analysis activity and provides guidance and support for PhD students enabling these projects.
As well as his work with LTEC, Dean is a passionate scholar of Medieval History. His PhD thesis explored the Latin records generated by Jewish moneylending activities between 1194 and 1276. He is a Visiting Fellow at the University of Lincoln, and co-convener of the ‘Medieval Anglo-Jewish Records’ graduate seminar at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
