Mrs Davina Whitnall is the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead for Learning & Teaching Enhancement Centre (LTEC) at the University of Salford and a freelance development consultant and coach. With over 20 years of experience in Higher education, she has a wealth of expertise in supporting academic staff, students and developing confidence. Davina is dyslexic and neurodivergent and interested in exploring strategies to be more inclusive in the classroom and workplace to embrace diversity.
Davina holds a BA in TV Production and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a Certificate in Training Practice with The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. She has authored two books: “ER Stories – Enabling Researchers Stories” and “Ketchup – The Confidence Developing Condiment.” Her research interests include empathy-based pedagogy, failureship (failure as a pathway to success), confidence and the lived experience.
